AL MAWAKEB SCHOOLS
Founded in 1979 as a private international school, Al Mawakeb currently boasts a student body of over 7500 with over 60 nationalities represented in its schools (Al Mawakeb Al Garhoud, Al Mawakeb Al Barsha, and Al Mawakeb Al Khawaneej).
Al Mawakeb schools are managed by AMSI and strive to offer a comprehensive, relevant, integrated, and balanced curriculum based on the Massachusetts State Standards and the UAE Ministry of Education.
The curriculum is unique and reflects Al Mawakeb’s vision, mission, and commitment to personal development and academic excellence. Its structure and content catered to the cultural and social sensitivities of the complex demographic population of our schools. It is language-rich, student-centered, skills-driven, and outcomes-focused intended to promote intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, innovation, independent thinking, and lifelong learning.
The curriculum supports Al Mawakeb’s commitment to internationalism through collaborating effectively in a diverse and multinational community and preparing students to face future challenges and become global citizens. It reinforces the culture of openness and acceptance of various diverse views and beliefs in the multicultural community. The curriculum also builds students’ linguistic proficiency in 3 languages (Arabic, English & French) while encouraging them to practice their native language at home and elsewhere.
Al Mawakeb schools are among the few schools in Dubai offering AP courses. Advanced Placement (AP) is a college-level American College Board program recognized by American colleges and universities.
Upon completing twelve years of education, seniors receive a high school diploma that enables them to pursue higher education worldwide.
